I am the coordinator of the Michigan Health Literacy Collaborative. I have been working on health literacy projects for about 12 years as a faculty member at Western Michigan University and a volunteer at the Kalamazoo Literacy Council. I have taught health providers and future health providers health literacy skills and designed the undergraduate health literacy class required for the Interdisciplinary Health Services bachelor's degree. In the summer I coordinate a Health + English program for refugees and others learning English. I run a health literacy tutor forum which assists tutors to teach literacy, English, and health together. I have also designed and taught a variety of lessons on Covid-19 and the vaccine.. I am a member of IHLA and I have worked as a consultant to the National Adult Literacy Agency in Ireland on their Crystal Clear Pharmacy program. .
