The National Institute of Health defines a health-literate healthcare organization as one that makes it easy for people to navigate, understand, and use information and services to take care of their health. 

During this presentation, you’ll delve into the actionable strategies used at Johns Hopkins Health System in becoming a health literate organization. You’ll learn practical, affordable, and actionable action steps that were used to meet each of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) 10 Attributes of a Health Literate organization. 

In addition, Bauer and Heacox will share innovative, patient-centered educational approaches that are tailored to meet evolving learner preferences.

Thank you for sharing the pdf of webinar on organisational literacy attributes. I am from India and tried to develop organisational health literacy but it’s challenging for the following reasons:

  1. There is high workload in countries like India or Asia and sub Saharan Africa.
  2. There is about 30-36% of the population who have not been to school in Asia and Sub Saharan Africa.
  3. The training in medical schools has not yet adopted the tights based approach and the asymmetrical knowledge between the medical/ health professional is high and brings the power play between the two.

can you please suggest strategies how to develop health literate organisations in such places.
