Health Literacy Champions: How Nebraska’s Health Departments Are Closing the Equity Gap

Project AWARE/ACTIVATE won 2025 IHA's award for Innovative Programs. Project ACTIVATE stands for Advancing Coordinated and Timely InterVentions, Awareness, Training, and Education. It’s the implementation of a North Carolina Department of Public Instruction grant called Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education). The grant is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
