01-15-2024 07:06 AM

This 2020 article by Salima Meherali and colleagues discusses a systematic review. The review included studies on health literacy interventions designed to improve health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries.

Researchers found that, overall, the interventions improved health knowledge and outcomes. They also spurred lifestyle changes.

Researchers found that the most successful interventions were:

  • ·      Interactive.
  • ·      Innovative (e.g., using street theater or technology).
  • ·      Multifaceted (i.e., using more than one learning method).
