Irene Bond and colleagues developed this 2013 curriculum for 6^th graders. The curriculum aims to improve students’ health information literacy skills and knowledge around childhood lead poisoning.

The curriculum is interactive and flexible. It includes the following materials:

• Fictional medical mystery cases
• Lab experiments for students to do
• Non-fiction stories about lead poisoning cases
• Poster template for students to use to design a capstone poster
• Worksheets to help students assess health information websites
• Pre- and post-test to assess the program
