This webinar focused on:

  • How the City of La Habra, California, pulled together existing food distribution programs to create a robust Community Food Giving Program that serves families, seniors, and homeless people. 
  • The need to identify who is providing food in the community and where they are receiving it from. 
  • How to identify whether you have a regional nonprofit that is procuring food from the larger grocers and how to tap into that source. 
  • How to use collaboration as a primary means to accomplish the end goal of feeding people.

David De Leon
Recreation Manager

David De Leon earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Azusa Pacific University and is currently employed by the City of La Habra where he oversees special events, social services programs, and serves as a liaison to local non-profits, business community, and faith community. David has more than 36 years of experience at the local and state level of government.  He is known for his ability to bring people together to build stronger connections across communities, and improve the infrastructure that are needed. David De Leon serves on the Friends of Families Health Center Board of Directors and as President of the Better Life Through Sport Foundation.  He has received numerous leadership awards and has been recognized for his work in communities.  David is married to Karon for 35 years and they have a son.
