The Florida Health Literacy Summit is a statewide forum for educators, health professionals, and other interested stakeholders to discuss and collaborate on how to effectively serve the health needs of adults and families with low literacy, low health literacy, and limited English skills.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly nine out of ten adults struggle to understand and use personal and public health information when it is filled with unfamiliar or complex terms. Good health outcomes require clear communication between medical professionals and patients.
