Hello IHA community,
I am an undergraduate student researcher currently working with Dr. Flora Ma at Stanford School of Medicine on AI-based simulations for clinical empathy training. We are currently conducting research on the impact of AI-based educational interventions (simulated patients, similar to OSCEs) and specialized assessments on doctor-patient communication, and I'd love to collaborate with health literacy/med ed professionals on research studies moving forward. As of now, the simulated patients are primarily being used to train hospitalists and other clinicians who see a wide range of patients, and we are actively working on a number of health equity/accessibility-related projects as well. If you are interested in a collaboration, feel free to email me at subiu028@bu.edu and mention that you came from the IHA board - would love to set up a time to discuss your ideas!
I'm attaching a demo video of the platform and some sample assessments/case development guides in case you would like more information. You can view the demo here: 02. Care Collaborative
