Health Literacy, Pregnancy, and the Power of Story: Lessons from the Margins

Webinar Description

A powerful session exploring how culturally relevant, community-created books and tools can reshape the way we support pregnancy, parenting, and public health. Drawing on decades of experience working alongside families often left out of traditional health systems and media—both in the U.S. and around the world—Lisa Bernstein shares why standard health materials often miss the mark, and what accessible, trustworthy communication truly looks like.

This conversation goes beyond information-sharing. Lisa highlights how meaningful health literacy can build trust, promote dignity, and create space for civic engagement. From prenatal care to broader systems of support, this session connects the dots between communication, equity, and stronger, more informed communities.
