This 2020 article by Ronie Walters and colleagues discusses a systematic review. The review included studies on health literacy interventions in adults.
Researchers found that most of the interventions improved health literacy. However, the writeups could have done a better job of discussing the interventions and the theories behind them. In addition, nearly all the studies were at high risk of bias.
