Irene Bond and colleagues developed this 2013 curriculum for 6th graders. The curriculum aims to improve students’ health information literacy skills and knowledge around childhood lead poisoning.
The curriculum is interactive and flexible. It includes the following materials:
- Fictional medical mystery cases
- Lab experiments for students to do
- Non-fiction stories about lead poisoning cases
- Poster template for students to use to design a capstone poster
- Worksheets to help students assess health information websites
- Pre- and post-test to assess the program
