What’s Next for Health Literacy? - A Town Hall Sponsored by IHA’s Health Literacy Solutions Center

NEW! Speaker Announcement: We’re excited to welcome Katy Evans from the FrameWorks Institute, who will offer a brief presentation on how strategic framing can support clear and effective communication—especially during times when language carries different meanings for different audiences. Katy’s insights will help us think about how to keep our messages impactful, inclusive, and resilient in today’s shifting environment.

Federal and foundation funding cuts. Disappearing websites and toolkits. Politicized language. The health literacy community has always responded to challenges by innovating, collaborating, and adapting—and this moment is no different. Join us for this interactive Town Hall, sponsored by IHA’s Health Literacy Solutions Center, to highlight the strength and resilience of our field and to collectively build the path forward.

Together, we will:

  • Reflect on what’s at risk, what must evolve, and the actions we can take now.

  • Celebrate key milestones and successes from our field’s history to inspire what comes next.

  • Share results from two recent roundtable discussions where health literacy thought leaders identified current opportunities and challenges facing our field.

  • Open the conversation through a live Zoom discussion, inviting all participants to build on roundtable insights, provide additional perspectives, and contribute ideas to better understand the current landscape and identify pathways forward.

  • Launch five dedicated workgroups focused on language framing, resource preservation, sustainable funding, strategic messaging, and early-career leadership.

This Town Hall is your opportunity to actively shape the conversation, inspire meaningful action, and collaboratively chart a thriving future for health literacy.

What You’ll Walk Away With:
