Poster abstract: Stanford Children’s Health (SCH) identified that eighty percent of SCH’s educational material was above a 7th-grade reading level, potentially leading to confusion and dissatisfaction amongst patients. The Patient Education Committee, created a Health Literacy Camp to promote health literate design of materials within the organization. In the 2.5 hour virtual course, providers were given tips on how to make information comprehensible for both patients with varying levels of health literacy and helped them gain a basic understanding of health literacy. Post-survey questions revealed an interest in further knowledge on the topic and desire for an additional workshop.
