Session summary: Promoting health equity for 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in the area of reproductive and perinatal health presents unique challenges. Gendered language and the assumption that gender, sexuality, and family composition is binary, is deeply entrenched. To ensure our hospital provides all patients with high-quality, culturally safe and appropriate care, we have created a gender inclusion policy and have generated a language and practice guide to ensure that policies and systems support a culture that is inclusive to all who seek, and all who provide, services. Creating gender-inclusive resources introduces novel health literacy opportunities, and challenges. We will share our writing guide, PRISM.
