Poster abstract: Numeracy is fundamental in the role of a healthcare provider (HCP), however many struggle with this topic. Numeracy is often integrated into training curricula, but the teaching modality, competencies covered, learner satisfaction, and effectiveness varies. A scoping review was conducted to explore what is known about numeracy education for HCPs. Most studies described improvement in numeracy outcomes from baseline. Learners expressed satisfaction and improved outcomes from interventions that promote active engagement and integrate multiple educational modalities. Given the growing need for HCPs to utilize numeracy in clinical practice, an emphasis should be placed on incorporating numeracy in training curricula.
