Multilingual Maternal Care Resource Guide for Esperanza Health Center Patients at Temple and Einstein Hospitals

This project addresses a critical need for marginalized obstetric patients, including Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals and those with insecurities regarding legal status, who receive prenatal care at Esperanza Health Center in Kensington, Philadelphia, but must deliver at Temple or Einstein hospitals. A comprehensive English and Spanish resource guide was developed to provide essential information on delivery processes, hospital logistics, and available resources. Distributed at the initial prenatal appointment, the guide aims to enhance patient preparedness and communication, promoting better health outcomes for vulnerable populations. Its significance lies in improving health literacy and advancing health equity in Philadelphia’s healthcare system.
