Librarians Contributions to Health Literacy: A Scoping Review

Three health librarians conducted a scoping review to determine 1) the primary audiences for health literacy-related services offered by information professionals, 2) the barriers and facilitators to the work, and 3) how the impact of information professionals work is measured. After a systematic search across multiple databases and two rounds of screening, 371 studies were included in the final review. This poster will present preliminary findings from the data extraction, which will inform a brief discussion of the importance of librarian involvement in health literacy education and promotion efforts.
