Leveraging AI-Powered Videos to Bridge Health Literacy Gaps in Diverse K-5 Communities

Healthy lifestyle habits are an integral but often underemphasized part of a child’s education. In Georgia, there is no standardized curriculum for healthcare education. Elementary Pediatric Health Curriculum (EPHC) has addressed this gap by developing a longitudinal classroom curriculum. In partnership with a 65% minority/31% economically-disadvantaged Atlanta elementary school, EPHC has sought to address health disparities. EPHC is expanding this curriculum to families through take-home videos created AI-software that can be widely distributed. These videos feature a cast of diverse characters designed to resonate with students/families, transcending age and cultural barriers, ensuring critical health messages are reaching the broader community.
