Session summary: Health communication is critical for health and well-being, but there are many gaps in how health messaging is created. Organizations have committed to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), yet their health education content does not fully consider health fluency, cultural nuances, or generational customs. Furthermore, organizations often prioritize translation over transcreation. This session will ask participants to consider how their organizations and/or departments create content and health messaging, empower them to have discussions with their DE&I teams about equitable health information, and provide insights on how to move the needle forward from health literacy to health fluency.
