Poster abstract
: In 2021, CommunicateHealth (CH) and the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) conducted an image audit of the National Resource Center on Lupus website to determine whether images met best practices in health literacy, cultural competency, and design. CH and LFA evaluated 57 images using a set of custom audit criteria that included 16 yes or no questions from health literacy, cultural competence, and design themes. Based on the findings, CH and LFA created a first-of-its-kind image style guide including best practices, image examples, and practical tips for choosing imagery to complement health education content.
