Creation and Implementation of Falls Prevention Flyer in the Ambulatory Setting

Falls are a significant concern in healthcare, most especially in the ambulatory setting. This leads to adverse outcomes for patients. To address this problem, UCI Health implemented a falls prevention flyer for ambulatory clinics that aimed to educate both patients and staff about the falls prevention policy. The primary goal was to improve understanding and adherence to the policy, leading to enhanced safety and reduction of falls. The flyer was distributed to all ambulatory clinics at UCI Health and education provided to staff. Following these interventions, there was a 10% increase in falls screening documentation by UCI Health staff.
