Overview
Over the past year, the National Eye Institute (NEI) worked with CommunicateHealth (CH) to
conduct a series of research studies with people who have low vision. Low vision is a vision problem
that makes it hard to do everyday activities — and it can’t be fixed with glasses, contact lenses, or
other standard treatments. These studies aimed to understand users’ experiences with different
products, like websites and PDFs, and identify ways to make these products easier to use.
Across these studies, CH interviewed 25 participants in Spanish and English representing a mix of
eye conditions, including age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma.
