Poster abstract: Health literacy is an important social determinant of health associated with health outcomes. There have been several studies utilizing health literacy predictors to assess maternal outcomes. However, there has yet to be an examination of predicting pre-pregnancy health status based on health literacy predictors. The study focused on optimizing binary logistic regression models for predicting pre-pregnancy health outcomes such as diabetes, hypertension, prenatal care visits, and BMI utilizing health literacy predictors such as age, race/ethnicity, material status, education, payment method and geographical location. This study will plan to examine limited health literacy with its association on poor pre-pregnancy health outcomes.
