Presentation Description:

Acknowledging and celebrating holidays while also remaining inclusive to all — regardless of cultural and religious differences — can be difficult to balance. To support the goal of an inclusive culture, we will review ways to increase and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the year. In addition, we will tie in potential healthcare needs during the holidays, including a discussion about social isolation, health campaigns, and more.

Speaker:

Amy has worked in the social work and healthcare fields for 25 years. She is the Health Equity Specialist for Arizona Complete Health, which is a subsidiary of Centene Corporation. She participates on local and state-wide focused committees that have priorities to eliminate health disparities for underserved populations. Amy is a parent of a transgender teen and is an alumni member of the Human Rights Campaign’s Inaugural Parents for Transgender Equality Council, a coalition of the nation’s leading parent-advocates working for equality and fairness for transgender people. She has presented workshops at many local and national conferences. Amy is a strong advocate for change, and for anyone in need.

“Gift” Exchange:

During the holiday social, we will also have a "gift" exchange between members, where the only gift you need to exchange is your favorite resource for your industry/job with another member. Participants will randomly be assigned to Breakout Rooms and given six minutes to exchange their resource before coming back to the main room.

What platform will be used? This virtual event will use Zoom. You must have an account with Zoom and have it downloaded to your computer before the event to participate.

What do I need to prepare for this event? You only need to have your favorite resource link file handy. During the event you will be able to send a clickable link file via webinar chat. For example, here’s a link of shareable resource.
