Spanish/English Science Writer

Palladian Partners, an Altarum company based in Silver Spring, MD, provides comprehensive communications support services to some of the biggest names in biomedical and public health. We're looking for an outstanding Spanish/English Writer to join our Editorial team. Our ongoing commitment to provide exceptional strategic communications, editorial support, distinctive design, and superior service to our clients is as unwavering as our desire to enrich people's lives with quality health information. Our office is currently operating virtually. This position is open to permanent remote/virtual work. Candidates must be eligible to work within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and/or write scientifically accurate, plain-language web content in Spanish and in English about a wide range of biomedical research and public health topics based on established content strategy
• Translate content precisely and with scientific accuracy, accommodating clients’ preferred terminology and style
• Write and edit news releases, newsletters, fact sheets, and other print and digital products
• Contribute to support of senior-level communication materials including talking points, briefing papers, materials for webinars, PowerPoint presentations, and reports
• Attend virtual or in-person scientific conferences and summarize proceedings
• Write and edit memos, newsletters, fact sheets, and other print and digital products
• Interview scientists and thought leaders at major U.S. research institutions
• Contribute to social media and video projects
• Work directly with clients and collaborate with other staff members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, a life science, journalism, or similar field; advanced degree in a life science or science writing is a plus
• Two + years of Spanish and English writing and editing experience
• Comfortable following guidance on language usage for Spanish materials
• Comfort writing original, culturally appropriate content in Spanish
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver outstanding web and print content on deadline

Logistical Requirements

• At this time we will only accept candidates who are presently eligible to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship.
• Our organization requires that all work, for the duration of your employment, must be completed in the continental U.S. unless required by contract.
• If you are local to our offices in Arlington, Silver Spring, Ann Arbor, or Portland this role will be hybrid.
• Must be able to work during eastern time unless approved by your manager.
