Position Title: Safety and Health Communications Specialist

Job Summary:
ERG has an opening for a mid- to senior-level technical communications specialist to support government clients in a range of areas including worker safety and health, environmental protection, and public health. ERG is a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in occupational safety and health, environmental science and engineering, economics, risk assessment, information technology, facility management, and training, communications, and outreach.
Duties:
- Provide technical and communications support to government clients, including:
- Researching and evaluating occupational safety and health topics and developing related programs, guidance, and outreach materials.
- Conceptualizing and developing communications products on complex technical topics in plain language targeted to audiences’ needs.
- Developing and implementing communications plans and strategies for federal and state agencies.
- Developing and delivering training and outreach on safety, health, and environmental topics.
Education/Qualifications:
Candidates must have:
- A strong science background, ideally with an academic degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience in workplace injury and illness prevention, safety and health management systems, and safety culture.
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
- An understanding of instructional design and best practices for adult learning.
- At least 6 to 8 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage project budgets and teams.
- Commitment to quality and client service.
